Installation Instructions for Tom Tom 7 (tested on HTC Touch Pro 2)

1. Copy ttn7.916.9189_original_patched file onto device (NOT SD CARD) and install.
2. Restart device after install.
3. Create a My Documents folder on the SD card.
4. Copy map folder (NA835 in this case) to the My Documents folder on the SD card.
5. The next step requires that you're SD card is accessible to the patching program though My Computer
(you're SD card could be inserted into a card slot or you can set you're phone to be recognised as a logical drive)
5. Run 'Alberts Easy Activator' on your PC.
6. Select 'Use TT8_Keygen.exe' since in this case, we are activating the North America maps version 8.
7. Browse for .bif file. It is located in the map directory on the SD card.
8. Browse for the map folder to activate it. Again, this is on the SD card.
9. Browse to find the Meta.txt file. Again, this is on the SD card.
10. Generate the *.dct file.

That's all the patching done.
Lastly, if you want voices, you will be need to download them. Lot's of them can be found around the web for free.

Also, on the HTC Touch Pro 2, an erroneous message appears after restarting the device : 'BttrayCE error after soft reset'
TOMTOM places a new BT dlls under the windows folder that I had to remove:

\Windows\BtSdkCE30.dll
\Windows\BtCoreIf.dll

You can either ename them or remove them and then soft restart your Touch Pro 2 and everything will go back to normal.

I've been testing, seems like TomTom and Garmin are the only nav sw that need to run from MioPocket or MioPocketLite. If I do just simple unlock, TomTom doesn't see maps, and Garmin crashes. All other s/w runs fine with simple unlock. Weird. I'll try cannibalizing MioPocket to see what TomTom needs :-) Anyone any ideas?

hi dalanik :
i cannot get a gps fix on my moov 580 using tomtom7
can you help me please ?

For the nexts version you need Easyusetools (keygen/activator v8 maps). Updated: 23.08.2009

Hi, there

I have tried many days to install ttn on my smart-phone-device and encountered problems. Cuz I'm a newbie, hope somebody here can help me out. Of course, I had read a lot of posts here before I registered and asking for help. I just still can not figure out what's the hell went wrong ?

Here is my device spec:
TRIN100
Windows Mobile 6 Pro

CPU: Samsung(R) 2442 (400 MHz) (i.e. SC32442A-400 MHz)
DRAM: 64 MB
FlashROM: 128 MB
InternalStorage: 42.68 MB (??? Don't know what is this ?)
MiniSD slot: 4 GB inserted
QVGA: 240x320 @ 64K Color

Problem_1: If I install ttn into "MiniSD", then "TomTom Navigator.exe" can NOT be run. It complained with "Unable to start,
Not enough memory is available." then simply exit.

Problem_2: If I install ttn into "Device", then "TomTom Navigator.exe" can be run and I can find out the "DeviceUniqueID" for Map Keygenning. After following the timothy's
post "How to activate the maps for TomTom" procedure, I can generate the *.dct for map activating and copy them back into the corresponding Map folder in the "MiniSD". But when I start the "TomTom Navigator" again, it will not find out any Map and ask me to get a free trial map through internet.

I had tried TomTom v7.915.9196, v7.916.9189, v7.450.9028 and v7.451.9033 for PDA, all came out with the Problem_1 and Problem_2 issues. I used the USA and Canada 830.2323 Map for this test.
BTW, when I installed ttn into MiniSD, its folder structure is DEFAULTLY created by installer as following:
"\Program Files\Navigator\"
Is that right ? Cuz I read from somebody's post saying that it should be directly under the "MiniSD" root.

Thanks a lot for your attention and please HELP!!!!

Are your maps in the root of the MiniSD ? So not in a folder ?

Open "TomTom Navigator.exe" with hexeditor (Uedit, Winhex etc).
Browse to file offset 27081Ch

to

00 00 A0 01 0F E0 A0 E1 00 00 A0 01

Result: "Unable to start. Not enough memory is available." is gone...

I very much appreciated this post, but for the specific version (and only version) I was able to get working for my device (TT7.45) has different content for offset 27081Ch. I even did a HEX search for 00 30 90 E5 0F E0 A0 E1 20 F0 93 E5 and was unable to find such hex in the exe file. What I am curious about is if someone may have a different method of what to search for so I could attempt the memory fix on the TomTom Navigator.exe file.

Many thanks!

Here's a mirror for the QVGA and VGA version:
QVGA:  http://rapidshare.com/files/274155109/ttn7.916.9189_qvga_black.cab
VGA:  http://rapidshare.com/files/274156012/ttn7.916.9189_vga_black.cab

Note: As the link says, these are the black versions ;)

well i've been struggling with this for days
trying many versions and maps with no success on a touch pro
i got tomtom working on my sprint mogul earlier this year with an older version of easyusetools
it didn't have any patcher option
on the touch pro i am unable to get through the patcher step
all it says is "file missing"
i have no clue where to start
i have tried using copying everything over from the mogul and running the new device id through the insert_meta folder
that didn't work either
the mogul version i had success with is 915.9196 & 825.2159 maps
i collected my sources for the rest of the folders from various sources to make them complete and working (art, audio, help me, voices)

any help appreciated

EDIT:
got it working with easyactivator
