Right, just to make a long story short and to clarify some things before
I present my problem:
- I have spent 3 days reading the whole thread,
- I am quite confident in installing TT7 and maps as I already did in a
couple of generic GPS units belonging to my dad and brother-in-law.
- I got a SupraTech Ulises GPS last Xmas as a present from my dad, which
I have successfully used and installed iGo and other navigation softwares on.
The main specs for this unit are:
http://supratech.es/product_view.php?category=8&id=287320x200 screen resolution
Centrality Atlas IIth Dual-Core processor
- CPU A2 300 MHz (plus co-processor 200MHz)
- Integrated GPS Chip
- Centrality Technology GPS-V3TM
OS: Win CE Net 5.0
Internal Memory:
64 Mb SDRAM
32 Mb Flash RAM
Bluetooth
My problem is an unusual one. I (or any other owner of this GPS device)
have not been able to run TomTom 7 properly. TomTom 6 works fine but
obviously, being able only to use v6 maps it's not good whatsoever.
Since the unit is a WinCE 5.0, TT7 915.919196 is out of the question,
however TT7 910.9185 should work. In fact it does, I can install the v.
910.9185, run it and select the language, the right/left-handed
selection, the time format, up until the voice selection where I can
even test any of the voices installed.... however for some reason (I am
guessing the bluetooth thingy) once I made the voice selection, the
program stops, and the only way out is resetting the device or killing
the "Tom Tom Navigator.exe" application by using any task manager
available (i.e. taskbar, bananaPc...).

After that, if I try launching the software again, I'll see the splash screen
followed by a blank one, and nothing else happens.

The only way to try again is deleting the file navigator.cfg that was generated
during the 1st attempt. In the process the ttnavigator.bif file is generated
as well in 3 different locations (\Storage Card\TomTom\, \My Flash Disk\,
and \Storage Card\). The funny thing is that the DeviceSerialNumber is not
completed and the DeviceUniqueID only shows asterisks.
These are exactly the contents of the ttnavigator.bif file:
Quote:

There is no difference between trying to run the software from the internal
memory or the SD card. I always get the same issue and the same generated
files (ttnavigator.bif and navigator.cfg.)
If anybody have any ideas on how to avoid this "freezing" issue so I can use TT7 in
my GPS I would appreciate it a LOT.
As said earlier, my wild guess is that the BlueTooh module is the responsible for this as
some other similar GPS from the same brand, but with no BT module, can run TT7 without
problems.
I look forward to hearing constructive comments or ideas from any of you soon

Thanks very much in advance.
