Mobile Theme v2.0

Hi,

Just a quick announcement to let everyone know browsing PPCW on your mobile device has become easier.

We have launched http://m.ppcwarez.org/ with mini versions of the site for all devices. The mobile versions are lite, and do not contain all the features of the normal board, but should be good for reading posts on the move.

The new themes replace qvga/ and vga/ which are no longer available.

If you're using PIE6.1 or below, and the site shows up funny, ensure you're viewing the site in desktop mode rather than one column mode. To do this click Menu -> View -> Desktop.

SD, I guess the automatic Low Resolution message on top of every page is no longer necessary now. I would be glad when it's gone, cause it's unremovable in both Netfront and Opera Mini.

I'm keeping the low-res message BUT I will make it only appear on the index page as a trade off. I was unaware it wouldn't go away. Will do this shortly.

Nice work SD, it only works properly in landscape though on my TP2, in portrait it always zooms out so its unreadable. I have to zoom in every page I load.

Is that in PIE or opera?

Opera of course, if I don't use IE on my normal PC I for sure ain't using it on my phone

Haha that's what I thought. Have you tried turning on 'mobile view' in tools -> settings?

Suberb Work! Even though my Motorola Cliq had no problem browsing through the regular version of the site the new Mobile Theme v2.0 is advantageous in so many ways... It works fine in Portrait or Landscape.

Quick question though. I take it the mobile version 2.0 uses less data when loading...?? I noticed that it loads very very quickly even when using the stock Android browser on the Motorola Cliq....

I'm glad you're enjoying the mobile theme. It has a lot of information removed, so it would use less data to load each page than the full version due to this.

sdawson, I don't know if this is ask too much, but could you please create a 640x240 version for HPCs as my HP Jornada 720. Browse using PIE3 on it is very pain to access PPCWarez.

I can help you to do this if you want.

Sorry no. That's not a standard enough size and maintaining 3 themes is work enough. You can use the 480px version on it.
